{"id":10804,"date":"2013-12-21T10:03:58","date_gmt":"2013-12-21T08:03:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.femininemoments.dk\/blog\/?p=10804"},"modified":"2020-03-23T13:40:28","modified_gmt":"2020-03-23T11:40:28","slug":"princess-diaries-by-anna-stina-treumund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.femininemoments.dk\/blog\/princess-diaries-by-anna-stina-treumund\/","title":{"rendered":"Princess Diaries by Anna-Stina Treumund"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/27441181?title=0&amp;byline=0&amp;portrait=0\" height=\"456\" width=\"570\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<em><a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/27441181\">Princess Diaries: In The Corner, 2008<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/annastinatreumund\">Anna-Stina Treumund<\/a> on Vimeo.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Diary Of a Princess, a Two-sided Installation<\/h2>\n<p>On one side is the video &#8216;In the Corner&#8217;: a girl (the artist), who is standing in a corner and is giving a list of things she is not allowed to do and of things she is supposed to do:<\/p>\n<p>I have to graduate successfully.<br \/>\nI have to earn some money.<br \/>\nI have to participate at least in three art project in a year.<br \/>\nI have to take care of my looks.<br \/>\nI have to give birth at least to one child.<\/p>\n<p>I am not allowed to be weak.<br \/>\nI am not allowed to dream.<br \/>\nI am not allowed to be afraid.<br \/>\nI can not cry too much.<br \/>\nI can not be too critical.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230; all cliches taken from everyday life, rules that are aggressively cultivated by male dictated heteronormative society.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time there is a video running on the other side of the screen where the same girl is trying to entwine a pigtail but constantly failing in it.<\/p>\n<p>The screen is semi-transparent so the videos melt together.<\/p>\n<p>Video installation by Anna-Stina Treumund has been exhibited at the solo show <em>You, Me and Everybody We Do Not Know<\/em> and in Estonian Contemporary Art Museum, (2010), curator Rael Artel.<\/p>\n<h2>About Anna-Stina Treumund<\/h2>\n<p><a title=\"Anna-Stina Treumund\" href=\"http:\/\/www.annastinatreumund.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Anna-Stina Treumund<\/a> was a young artist based in Tallinn, Estonia. She did her doctoral studies in the Estonian Academy of Arts about queering heteronormative culture. Anna-Stina uses photography and video as medium for expressing her thoughts and ideas about the visibility of queer women and feminism. She was one of the first self-identified lesbian artists in Estonia.
