She is Assistant Professor of Cultural-Critical Rhetoric and Performance Studies in the Program of Speech Communication and Rhetoric and the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of South Carolina, Columbia. Her book <em>Sex Museums: The Politics and Performance of Display<\/em> is forthcoming with the University of Chicago Press. Tyburczy received her Ph.D. in performance studies from Northwestern University in 2009 and her M.A. in English Literature from the University of Texas, Austin in 2003.<\/p>\n<h2>Saturday, April 11, 3pm<\/h2>\n<p>Michelle Handelman uses video, live performance and photography to make confrontational works that explore the sublime in its various forms of excess and nothingness.<\/p>\n<h2>Wednesday, April 22, 6:30-8:30pm<\/h2>\n<p>Cassils Lecture. Heather Cassils is an artist who uses the physical body as sculptural mass with which to rupture societal norms.
