Nicole was recently awarded the Carnegie Prize for her work in the 2013 Carnegie International. With <a title=\"A.L. Steiner\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/A.L._Steiner\" target=\"_blank\">A.L. Steiner<\/a>, she is the co-founder of the queer\/feminist curatorial initiative <a title=\"Ridykeulous\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hellomynameissteiner.com\/RIDYKEULOUS\" target=\"_blank\">Ridykeulous<\/a>. The exhibition <em>Dear Nemesis, Nicole Eisenman 1993-2013 <\/em>featuring over 120 paintings, drawings, prints, and sculptures is the largest midcareer survey to date of the celebrated visual artist and queer woman. It was on-view through September 6, 2015 at the La Jolla location of the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, USA. The museum writes:<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Among her core concerns are depictions of community, identity, and sexuality. Eisenman\u2019s continual representation of women (both \u201cbutch\u201d and \u201cfemme\u201d) and female love not only imbues the practice of figurative painting with an audaciously queer bent but also recasts art history in a feminist light. Her wit spares no one and nothing, and it is indeed through her humor and the discomfort caused by her work that she communicates the multifaceted richness of the human condition.
