DEBORAH KELLY – Magical Thinking | 15 small collages
\nWagner Contemporary presents a curated selection of recent works on paper by acclaimed Sydney artist, Deborah Kelly<\/a>. Modest in scale but boundlessly imaginative, her hand-cut collages transport us to secret, shining worlds and strange new horizons. <\/p>\n

All 15 works may be viewed at the gallery, 9 July to 1 October. All works are available to be viewed at the gallery, 2 Hampden St, Paddington, NSW, Australia.<\/p>\n

About Deborah Kelly<\/h2>\n

Deborah Kelly is a Sydney-based artist whose projects across media are concerned with lineages of representation, politics and history in public exchange.<\/p>\n

Her works have been shown in the 2014 Biennale of Sydney, the 2015 Biennale of Thessaloniki, the 2014 TarraWarra Biennial, the 2008 Biennale of Singapore, and, as part of a collaborative project with Martha Rosler, the 2003 Venice Biennale.<\/p>\n

2017 saw her first international solo exhibition, at the Kvindemuseet in Aarhus, Denmark, as part of the European Capital of Culture festival curated by Juliana Engberg. Her second European solo, Life in the Ruins, was held at the Walter Galerie in Zurich, curated by Daniel Blochwitz in 2018.<\/p>\n

Her recent animated collage, LYING WOMEN, considers the legacy of European art history in the context of colonised cultural education. It has been shown in more than 40 cities around the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
