She is interested queer interaction\u00a0design and mobile computing. Lene feels that queer subcultures need physical meeting places, however a place can&#8217;t\u00a0be queerified in one go as the queer stories\u00a0of a place must be heard and retold again and\u00a0again before they become a part of the core\u00a0story about a place.<\/p>\n<p>Her design project &#8220;queer mobsites&#8221; at the Malm\u00f6 H\u00f6gskola (2006)\u00a0is based on cell phone technology. By\u00a0downloading a queer software that facilitates interaction with other queers the user can contact other queers by cell phone and arrange meet them at informal meeting places in urban areas,\u00a0thus queering new spaces in their local\u00a0community.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-254 alignnone\" title=\"Queer Mobsites by Lene Leth\" src=\"http:\/\/www.femininemoments.dk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/queermobsites_exhibition_leneleth.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.femininemoments.dk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/queermobsites_exhibition_leneleth.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.femininemoments.dk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/queermobsites_exhibition_leneleth-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Lene\u00a0is not trying to design a parallel &#8220;pink world&#8221; as there is no world outside the\u00a0heterosexual matrix. Instead she&#8217;s designing a\u00a0tool for a target group of self-identified\u00a0queers, &#8211; a tools to strengthen queer\u00a0sub cultural alliances, which can be seen as\u00a0alliances of power resisting the heterosexual mainstream. Empowerment of queers is one of the qualities of her queer design.
