Executive-produced by the Asian American Women Artists Association and the Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project, the film explores the many layers of identity \u2014 Abstract Expressionist painter, Beat-era existentialist, Buddhist, feminist, Chinese American, lesbian \u2014 that informed Bing\u2019s art and activism. &#8211; Lenore Chinn<\/p>\n<h2>About Bernice Bing<\/h2>\n<p>Bernice Lee Bing (1936-1998) entered the San Francisco Bay Area art scene in the 1960s and she were to be there as an active artist and community activist until her death in 1998. As an Asian American artist and queer woman she visualized her dual heritage through abstract expressionism, Chinese calligraphy and
