Galerie Les Yeux Ouverts (Fontainebleau) is proud to announce a new photography book from celebrated photographer Ren\u00e9e Jacobs. \u201cDreams from America\u201d is Jacobs\u2019 biggest collection to date and is composed of 308 images taken mostly during the photographer\u2019s years living in California from 2006-2016.<\/p>\n

The book is available in a Deluxe Edition for 75\u20ac plus shipping and includes one unique, signed 4\u201dx6\u201d print from each of the 308 images in the book. The Limited Edition for 30\u20ac plus shipping is available without a print. The total edition is 600 and includes an introduction by Brigitte Ollier and a text by Bernard Plossu. This quote from Germaine Krull (1897-1985), a committed witness of the thirties, is a good introduction to the work of Ren\u00e9e Jacobs. Her nudes are like pearly clouds that appear and then fade into the sky, naturally, like secret messages. With each nude, Ren\u00e9e Jacobs invents her freedom, reveals her desires, and claims her sexuality. One can also read in the subtext an intimate history of her photography that joins the daring women of the Belle \u00c9poque, Kiki de Montparnasse and other vagabonds ready to outwit the lens. – Brigitte Ollier from the introduction to Dreams from America<\/p>\n

One of the most renowned photographers of the female nude, Jacobs has twice been awarded the prestigious International Photography Award (Lucies).
