The feminist exhibition, WOMAN WHERE IS YOUR TOWER?, which opened on the International Women’s Day at Gallery NB, is exploring the feminine. What does this word\/term mean and what happened to the ‘feminine’? – This question was put forward to four young Danish artists Marie Irmgard, Beinta av Reyni, Henriette Hellstern-Kj\u00f8ller<\/a>, Kirsa Andreasen and the group exhibition presents their interpretation of the ‘feminine’.<\/p>\n

At the exhibition you can among other works see paintings titled ‘Liberated Black Woman<\/em>‘ and ‘Liberated White Woman<\/em>‘ by Henriette Hellstern-Kj\u00f8ller<\/a>.
\nIn an interview with kunsten.nu about the exhibition visual artist and lesbian Henriette Hellstern-Kj\u00f8ller stated that she does not feel that there is such a thing as\u00a0‘women’s art’ nor ‘male art’, there are just artists, and that it is only when talking about politics that she makes a distinction.
\nHowever Henriette can see a great misrepresentation of women artists within the art world and she tells us this story about the inequality: I was at HEART, Herning Museum of Contemporary Art, last year. There\u00a0I got the opportunity to see their very beautiful collection in the basement. The remarkable thing was that it only featured male artists. When I asked here the museums women artists were, then they went to out to the back and pulled out a painting by a women artist – it must have been the only one which they had. I don’t think that I was particularly popular, when I asked that question, but I don’t know if they have done anything about it…<\/p>\n
