Sackler Foundation.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Tejal Shah, India<\/h2>\n<p>Indian visula artist and queer\u00a0activist Tejal\u00a0Shah talks about her experimental video installation:\u00a0What are you?\u00a0This queer art project deals with the\u00a0otherness being experienced by the queer, transgendered and transexual\u00a0community in India.\u00a0The Hijras (transgender\/eunuchs)\u00a0of India are\u00a0being\u00a0treated as ambiguous\u00a0in-human beings, like an object or an animal, and their lifes as sex workers (this is the\u00a0only profession which is open to them)\u00a0make them seem even more queer to the ordinary Indians.<\/p>\n<p>I\u00a0saw Tejal&#8217;s video installation live at the\u00a0group show\u00a0<em>Lost and Found &#8211; Queerrying the Archive<\/em>, at Nikolaj Copenhagen, 2009 and I am happy that the Elizabeth A.
