She studied at 1996 &#8211; 97 at Academy of Art and Design, Bratislava, Slovakia and at Royal Academy of fine Arts, Copenhagen, Denmark in 1997 &#8211; 2003. Abstract non figurative painting has a central role in her artistic practice, but she also makes textile collages, patchwork quilts and flags. Mette writes in her artist statement: In an abstract work, the materials step forward and become a significant part of the work itself. A good painting is conscious of its own physical properties and of the space around it, and inquires into its own existence.
