It’s You Never Cared I Was Bleeding and Now It’s Just Wallpaper (2025) by Francesca Alaimo

It’s You Never Cared I Was Bleeding and Now It’s Just Wallpaper (2025, Mixed media. 84×124 cm) by Francesca Alaimo

Francesca Alaimo is an Italian British portrait artist and queer feminist artist based in London and exhibiting internationally, exploring themes of gender, identity through mixed media paper print.

Francesca Alaimo explains, I am a self-taught visual artist who creates interventions on paper and canvas through manipulation and transformation of materials. I use oils, pastels, acrylics, prints, stencils or frottage, then proceed to “undo” my works using melted wax and ripping off the surface, challenging the idea of perfection.

My work speaks of flaws and imperfections; of queer identity, dissociation, dysphoria, belonging and existentialism. It explores shame, visibility, vulnerability and courage.
