A.K. Burns: ‘I am a compulsive collaborator’

2-A.K. Burns speaking at “Art Practice, Activism, and Pedagogy: Some Feminist Views” a symposium at Parsons School of Design (2012) from Feminist Art Channel on Vimeo.

In this video A.K. Burns self identifies as a feminist artist. She makes sculpture, video, collage and performed social actions. The artist talk ends with a reading of the W.A.G.E Manifesto – Working Artists and the Greater Economy is a New York-based activist organization focused on regulating the payment of artist fees by nonprofit art institutions, and establishing a sustainable labor relation between artists and the institutions that subcontract their labor.
