Caitlin Rose Sweet presents Objectified, a solo exhibition of ceramic sculptures exploring the sensuality, absurdity, and brutality of the queer femme body. The sculptures are hybrid beasts of surrealism, craft, and feminist art that manifest as abstract figures, decorated with summoning fingers and dripping orifices. The audience is invited to look, to sexualize, to objectify; while, at the same time, the sculptures catch the audience looking. The pieces ripple with the tension between seduction and repulsion. The forms draw the viewer in with the bright trappings of femininity and push people back with the raw edges of abject queerness and fragility.
