Homotopia queer art festival, November 1st-30th 2010
This year the title of the British Homotopia queer art festival is ‘Love Conquers All’. It is the 7th year of Liverpool’s homegrown festival of LGBT arts & culture. With over 50 events ranging from art, debate, theatre, dance, film & digital there is something for everyone. The festival are also producing some major international art projects in 2010 and early 2011.

At the end of November a series of interventions and research in Istanbul, Turkey will start with the award winning gay Pansy Project. In January 2011 Homotopia is producing a landmark project in Turku, Finland as part of their European Capital Of Culture 2011. They will bring an exhibition featuring an international collection of Tom of Finland’s famous drawings back to Finland, to be exhibited in Turku. Unfortunately this year visual art projects reflecting a lesbian sensibility / visualizing a lesbian lifestyle are not available in the festival’s programme.

With the renewed focus on international the festival’s media sponsors, which include Gay Times, DIVA and Out North West also include new media partners such as QX, Qcruiser Sweden, SEEN and NHL Finland.
