Show Me Your Fantasy – A Viaual Arts Exhibition in San Francisco
Femina Potens Art Gallery invites you to the opening reception of ‘Show me your fantasy’, July 11, 2009, 7-10pm at Femina Potens Art Gallery 2199 Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA.
Femina Potens is a grassroots non-profit art gallery & performance space, which hosts queer art shows. For their july 2009 exhibtion they have invited four female artists to visualize their desires and erotic fantasies. The invitation reads:
Artist Malia Schlaefer has been reaching out to the community making women’s sexual fantasies become a reality as she documents them in her photographs; illuminating what contemporary female desire looks like. Karen Marisa beautifully photographed Vixen Noir’s twist on a typical fairy- tale, creating a Queer African-American ‘Snow Black’ with a delicious sexual appetite. Amanda Lynn’s artwork challenges the impossible, creating painted portraits of wondrous headless, walking Victorian ladies. Our favorite Italian import from Rome, Nicoz Balboa takes us through her whimsical world of heroic damsels and life size animals with her drawings and pyrography paintings. Join us as they explore the vital theme of fantasy in the developments of desires and sexual identity.
In addition to the group show there is also a window installation by Morgan Weinert at Femina Potens.
