Vancouver – QAF Community Show Call For Submissions

Submissions are OPEN for QAF Community Art Show!

It’s that time of year! QAF + SUM gallery invites artists to submit artwork to be considered for our QAF Community Art Show, to be held this June.

We’re inviting artists in our local Queer communities to contribute works that explore our 2026 festival theme, “On the Edge” – though all submitted works will be considered. We are delighted to be hosting the exhibition at SUM gallery from June 5 – June 27, 2026.

We are considering 2-D visual works, sculpture, media art, and interdisciplinary works for submission.

Submission deadline: April 30, 2026.
Send submissions to: submissions@queerartsfestival.com.

The Queer Arts Festival (QAF)

Produced by the Pride in Art Society (PiA), the Queer Arts Festival is an artist-run transdisciplinary art festival held annually in Vancouver, BC since 2008. QAF brings together diverse, intersectional and intergenerational communities to support artistic risk-taking and incite creative collaboration and experimentation. QAF aims to create a home for 2SLGBTQIA+ and QTBIPOC artists to present their work and broaden the public’s appreciation of Queer arts and cultures.

SUM Gallery

SUM produces, presents and exhibits challenging, thought-provoking multidisciplinary art that pushes boundaries and initiates dialogue. From its roots in the Pride in Art Society (PiA), SUM gallery was founded in 2018 as a space for year-round programming of the Queer Arts Festival in Vancouver, Canada. SUM is located in the Sun Wah Centre in Vancouver’s Chinatown neighborhood as part of the BC Artscape community cultural hub. Since 2021, the gallery has been led by Mark Takeshi McGregor, who succeeded founding Artistic Director SD Holman.
