Gay Artist = Gay Art?

Gay Artist = Gay Art?
What: Talk
When: Tue 16 November 2010
Where: Hochhauser Auditorium, Sackler Centre, V&A, London, UK

Talk: A debate about the relationship between sexual identity and art. Do designers’ sexualities reveal themselves in the works that they create? Does an artist’s sexual orientation inform their aesthetic choices? Join a panel of thinkers and practitioners as they debate the complex relationship between sexual identity and art.

Renowned panelist Qasim Riza Shaheen (Artist), Topher Campbell (Film Director), Stuart Frost (V & A Learning and Interpretation Team) and Paul Burston (Author and Editor of Time Out LGBT section) are to look at what marks as a queer sensibility or does it even exist?

Unfortunately I am not going to London this autom, but I wish I were able to go and listen to this panel debate to hear, if the members of the panel will come to new conclusions about the ‘never ending’ story about our gay/queer/lesbian ‘sensibility’, as 2010 is the start of a new exciting decade and a time for new things to happen.
