“World Premiere: Pin Ups – Exhibition by Sadie Lee & Mathew Stradling
November 4 to December 3, 2011
The Gallery, 41 Stanhope Street, [ Liverpool, UK]. Free

A selection of new and existing portraits by both artists exploring the idea of queer icons and inspired by the eponymous David Bowie album. Sadie Lee has won the BP Travel Award and her series of paintings ‘And Then He Was A She’ (portraits of the Andy Warhol superstar Holly Woodlawn) have been exhibited in Salford, London, Liverpool and The Schwules Museum in Berlin. Matthew Stradling has exhibited in group and solo exhibitions in Europe and America most recently exhibiting in Guy Berube’s ‘La Petite Morte Gallery’ in Ottawa, and this year will be holding a solo show in Amsterdam. Both Sadie and Matthew contributed to the highly acclaimed exhibition ‘400 Women’ a tribute to murdered and missing women of Mexico, exhibiting alongside two hundred international artists including Paula Rego and Tracey Emin.”

Artist Talk
Artist Sadie Lee will give a talk about her working practice at 3pm on Sunday 6th of November, 2011 at The Gallery Liverpool. Sadie regularly gives talks at The National Portrait Gallery London as well as The Wallace Collection and Tate Modern. This event is free all welcome.
