‘Into View: Bernice Bing’ celebrates the Asian Art Museum’s acquisition of 20 paintings and works on paper that shine a light on the lesbian Asian American artist Bernice ‘Bingo’ Bing (1936-1998) who has only recently gained broad recognition for her achievements. The exhibition runs through June 26, 2023.
Video (12:00): The female nude dates back to the very beginning of art, but it remains a contested symbol. American photographer Renée Jacobs speaks to Eve Jackson (France 24) about reclaiming it and using it as a form of queer and feminist activism. Jacobs’ photo books are entitled “Paris” and “Polaroids” and her exhibition “Dreams & Desires” is being shown at the Sinner hotel in Paris through December 11, 2022.
Video (4:01): Cuts in the Day at Camden Art Centre, London through January 15, 2023, is the first institutional exhibition in the UK by Dani and Sheilah ReStack (USA).
